If you’re a potential surrogate living in Louisiana who is curious about surrogate pay, we understand that you have questions and concerns about embarking on this extraordinary journey. We’re here to support you and provide clarity on the compensation aspect of surrogacy.
Due to surrogacy laws in Louisiana, paid surrogacy is not legal and therefore not compatible with our agency. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t provide you with the information you’re seeking. Reach out to a surrogacy specialist today.
Is it Illegal to Pay a Surrogate Mother in Louisiana?
Yes. As of August 1, 2016, when Louisiana Surrogacy Bill HB 1102 went into effect, receiving surrogate compensation in Louisiana is prohibited. Anyone who enters into a paid surrogacy agreement is subject to legal consequences.
Because surrogate compensation in Louisiana is illegal, we unfortunately do not work with surrogates from this state. That doesn’t mean we can’t provide you with information to set you up for success, should you choose to move in the future.
How Much Do Surrogate Mothers Get Paid in Louisiana?
Because of the previously mentioned law restricting surrogate pay, you will not be able to get paid for surrogacy in Louisiana. If you happen to move to a surrogacy-friendly state that we do work with, you can make anywhere from $50,000 to $110,000 in surrogate compensation.

How do Surrogates Get Paid in Louisiana?
Under Louisiana’s current set of laws surrounding surrogacy, there is no way to legally receive surrogate compensation. Here’s how we structure our surrogate pay in surrogate-friendly states.
Base Pay for a Surrogate Pregnancy
Base pay for a surrogate pregnancy is essentially a surrogate’s salary. We break the base pay down into 10 equal monthly installments that begin once a pregnancy is confirmed. An escrow company that we partner with will manage your surrogate payments.
We also offer a monthly stipend before a pregnancy is confirmed that begins once you sign your surrogacy contract. This will continue 6-8 weeks after delivery.
Additional Compensation for Surrogates
The rest of your surrogate compensation will be in the form of reimbursements for your surrogacy and pregnancy expenses such as:
-
Fertility medications
-
Embryo transfers
-
Maternity clothes
-
Travel
-
Counseling
-
And more
You may not be able to receive surrogate compensation as a Louisiana resident, but if you ever move to a different state, we can help you navigate our comprehensive surrogate compensation package. Speak with a specialist today.

Highest-Paying Surrogacy Agencies in Louisiana
Due to Louisiana’s strict surrogacy laws, many agencies may not work with surrogates in this state to avoid legal complications. If you become a surrogate in one of the many states we do serve, you could become one of the highest-paid surrogates.
We believe surrogates deserve to be financially recognized and rewarded for the service they provide. We cannot stress enough that while we may not work with surrogates in Louisiana, that doesn’t mean we don’t value your desire to help others grow their families. If you’re curious about comparing compensation between agencies, we can help.
First-Time Surrogate Compensation vs. Second -Time Surrogate Compensation
For surrogates who may be on their second, third or even fourth surrogacy journey, we factor their previous experience into their surrogate compensation package. If you used to live in a different state where you were once a surrogate, you are eligible to earn experienced surrogate compensation in surrogate-friendly states.
-
First-time surrogate compensation: $50,000 - $90,000
-
Second-time surrogate compensation: $60,000 - $110,000
